 If golfing is something that you are fond of, then Atlantic City, NJ is a great place for you to be. Golf resorts, clubs and courses have become very popular and many are open to the public. In 2009, Atlantic City made the list as one of the "Top 10 Golf Cities in America" on Forbes Traveler. There are approximately 19 courses in and around Atlantic City, and many of them are open year-round. You can plan a full golf vacation getaway or spend just one day golfing.

Whether you are a beginner or a more seasoned golfer you will find a course for your level of golfing experience. Some of the courses are a little more challenging than others and you can choose either a 9-hole or 18-hole course. Each course is beautiful, unique and expertly designed. The courses have tight fairways, well-manicured greens, and many of the courses are lined with trees or with views of the water.

One of the most popular, championship-level public golf courses is at the Atlantic City Country Club. It has a complete driving range and practice facility. This is a links style course. Links is the oldest style of golf course and was first developed in Scotland. Trees line some of the fairways and there are a few fairway bunkers and a few hills on the fairways. Most of the terrain is flat, however. This golf course is open from March 17 to December 31, has 18 holes and its earliest tee time at 8 a.m.

Seaview Golf Resort has two different courses: Bay Course and Pines Course. Bay Course is a more difficult course than Pines Course. There is a very large practice facility. The fairways have bent grass and on each side of the fairways is Kentucky Bluegrass. The Bay Course is a links style course with fairways that are lined with a few trees. The Pines Course has several par 3s (back to back) that are 200 yards plus each. This golf course is open year round, has 18 holes and the earliest tee time is at 6 a.m.

Links at Brigantine Beach Golf Club has a practice green, but no driving range. This is also a links style golf course and the layout is well-liked. This course has breathtaking views of the bay, a gentle rolling terrain and very few trees. This is a great course for golfers of all skill levels. This golf course is open year round, has 18 holes and the earliest tee time is at 6 a.m.

Other golf courses that you might like to tee off at are Ballamor Golf Club, Blue Heron Pines, Harbor Pines, McCullough's Emerald Golf Links, Shore Gate Golf Club, Sea Oaks Golf Club and Twisted Dune Golf Club.
